“I anthropomorphised this design to a much further degree than the original. The original terrier design presents a bow in the hair to imply a domesticated, pampered lifestyle, and the face has been rendered to an idealised, innocent, ‘cuteness’. However I have added eye-shadow, false eyelashes, lipstick, earrings, and a beauty spot in order to specifically suggest a sexual relationship between master and hound.
The title ‘Lolita’ refers, of course, to Vladimir Nabokov’s book of the same name; provoking the viewer to consider notions of vulnerability, naïvety, and lust that are embodied in this supposed inter-species relationship.”
